Like a Deep Breath

Three Roads Grove has been through some changes through the years, and we are now coming through our biggest change yet with a whole new look at where we want to be in the future. It feels really good, like a deep breath and a good stretch after being in one spot for too long.

Part of the reason for this feeling is because the seasons are shifting. The warm and sultry Summer is giving way to the cool and crisp Autumn. Today there was a distinctive bite in the air despite being sunny. It was the kind of day you want to spend curled up with a good book, a cup of warm tea, and a cat in your lap. I spent the day grinding up the herbs I have been harvesting all Summer long and putting them in spice jars. I have an abundance of rosemary, oregano, and sage. I was also fortunate to be gifted basil from my aunt's garden. The kitchen smelled like love and magick this afternoon. I still have cilantro and chives to gather, as well as onions, strawberries, blackberries and grapes. There are also a few tomatoes not quite ready to be picked.

Gathering the abundance of my garden together at the end of Summer is an activity as warm and comfortable as my favorite pair of socks. It felt good to slide into them after a sweltering Summer in which my garden bloomed into life. Though I thank the Summer for the life it gave, I look forward to the Autumn and the gifts it brings - jackets and hoodies, fuzzy socks, warm apple cider, and vivid leaves.

Blessed Be.

  1. So much win in this post...thank you for your thoughts on this adventure. And I could really use some cider about now. I hope to have something to contribute soon.
